The Reds are desperate to record the first Premier League win in six matches when they visit Spurs on Thursday. Read our Tottenham vs Liverpool Preview and get the latest stats and news.
Tottenham Hotspur Recent Form & Team News
Undefeated in four Premier League games (W2, D2), Tottenham Hotspur are still alive in the title race. By the end of the last league round, no PL side had scored more (21) or allowed fewer (four) first-half goals. However, Spurs are vulnerable late in games, as they conceded 47.06% of their league goals this season in the final 15 minutes.
Jose Mourinho’s team didn’t let in a league goal in the opening 30 minutes all season at home. Tottenham scored first in seven (77.78%) of their PL home matches this season. Spurs are without a loss when scoring the opener (W4, D3), and they’ll hope for the same scenario against their ‘bogey team’ against whom they won only one of the previous eight H2H duels(D1, L6).
Player to watch: Harry Kane scored six PL goals against Liverpool.
Jose Mourinho will be without Dele Alli (tendon), Giovani Lo Celso (muscle), and Sergio Reguilon (muscle). Ben Davies (calf) and Matt Doherty are questionable.
Liverpool Recent Form & Team News
Although undefeated in the Premier League when playing in London (W2, D1), Liverpool will find it hard to retain the crown they won so easily last season. A latest 1-0 loss to Burnley (Jan 21), snapped their 68-game unbeaten league streak at Anfield. It also marked 4+ consecutive league matches without a goal for the first time since April/May 2000.
The Reds struggled on the road, and failed to keep the net intact in the opening half in three away games in the league (W1, L2). Their previous PL road victory (7-0 vs Crystal Palace) was preceded by four league draws in a row, three of which saw Liverpool allow the final goal of the game.
Player to watch: Mohamed Salah scored eight goals against Tottenham in all competitions – the most he has against any current Premier League team. The Egyptian also bagged Liverpool’s last goal in each of their previous five goalscoring matches on the road.
Jurgen Klopp cannot count on Virgil van Dijk (knee), Diogo Jota (knee), Joe Gomez (knee), and Naby Keita (muscle). Jordan Henderson (muscle) is questionable to feature on Thursday.
