The Red Bulls have an opportunity to climb up to the top of Bundesliga with a win over the Black and Yellows on Saturday. Check out our RB Leipzig vs Dortmund Preview to see what we think about this clash.

Red Bull Leipzig Recent Form & Team News

A 1-0 victory last weekend made it eight Bundesliga matches in a row undefeated for RB Leipzig (W5, D3). Also, it was a fourth consecutive game with a clean sheet, as the Red Bulls keep the pressure on the reigning champions Bayern Munich, who lost this round to Monchengladbach. Leipzig’s last game was a historical landmark too, as it marked the club’s 150th Bundesliga appearance. No team had a better record after the first 150 games in Bundseliga (W81, D40, L29).

Leipzig have the best home record in the league (W6, D1), and will try and get three points against Borussia Dortmund. The Black and Yellows won the previous two H2H duels at Red Bull Arena without conceding a goal. The last encounter was also the previous home match in Bundesliga in which Leipzig suffered a defeat.

Player to watch: Dani Olmo netted Leipzig’s winning goal last time out, and scored their last goal at home.

Julian Nagelsmann will be without Benjamin Henrichs (Achilles tendon), Justin Kluivert (calf), and Ibrahima Konate (ankle). Konrad Laimer (knee), Christopher Nkunku (ankle), and Dominik Szoboszlai (groin) are also out.

Borussia Dortmund Recent Form & Team News

Dortmund are six points behind Leipzig, but will travel here encouraged by a 2-0 victory in the latest round. That game was just the second time they scored over 1.5 goals in their previous six Bundesliga fixtures (W2, D1, L3). Still, despite those positives, we should notice that each of Dortmund’s last four matches have been stalemates at halftime.

Additionally, Dortmund are one of only three teams in Bundesliga yet to lead at the interval on the road (HT: D4, L3). The visitors are far more dangerous in the second 45 minutes. They scored 11 of their 12 away league goals in that period.

Player to watch: Erling Haaland scored twice in the previous H2H tilt, and will be Dortmund’s top attacking option on Saturday.

Hot stat: Only one of the last eight H2H duels failed to produce goals in the first half.

Edin Terzic cannot count on Jude Bellingham (knock), Thorgan Hazard (muscle), and Marcel Schmelzer (knee).
