The Italian Serie A kicks off this weekend which means all top five European leagues are in action. There are plenty of interesting football betting trends and picks in the next two days, so let’s take a closer look.
Both Liverpool and Benfica are on an 11-game winning streak and will have a tall task to extend it this weekend. Liverpool is a 1.55 fave to beat Arsenal at home, but the clash against the Gunners could be a tricky one even though the Reds have won three straight H2H meetings at Anfield.
On the other side, Benfica welcomes its arch-rival Porto as a 1.90 fave, and the Eagles have beaten the Dragons just twice in the previous ten H2H meetings. On the other hand, Benfica is on a nine-game winning streak at home. Still, I would avoid this clash, as well as the one in Liverpool.
Elsewhere, Salzburg is a massive 1.05 fave against Admira, and the Red Bulls should record their ninth straight win. Salzburg won all four contests since the start of the season, while Admira earned just a point. However, there is value only if you take a risk and wager on Salzburg to cover a 2.5-goal spread.
The Slovakian Fortuna Liga brings a huge derby between Slovan and Zilina. Both teams have won all five games in this campaign, while Slovan has beaten Zilina five times in a row. Four of the last five H2H duels saw three or more goals in the total, and Zilina scored in three straight visits to Bratislava.
I would take both teams t score here at 1.55 odds. Slovan had an exhausting clash against PAOK in the Europa League and will travel to Greece next Thursday to defend a 1-0 lead in the second leg.
Last week, Kaposvar lost at Ferencvarosi 1-0, recording its eighth straight defeat in the Hungarian top tier. They have a nice chance to snap that skid this weekend, hosting another newcomer Zalaegerszeg who lost both games in this campaign. The price on Kaposvar to stay unbeaten is 1.47.
Watford lost two straight games at the start of the 2019-20 English Premier League season, extending its losing streak to five games in the top tier. The Hornets host West Ham as 2.20 favorites with the odds at 1.35 to stay undefeated. West Ham earned one point over the first two rounds.
Over/Under 2.5 Goals Streaks
If you like to follow the betting trends, go with Over 2.5 Goals at Slovan versus Zilina. Seven of Slovan’s last ten games overall and Zilina’s previous 12 contests in the Fortuna Liga saw three or more goals on the scoreboard.
Basel had nine games in all competitions this season, and all nine produced at least three goals in the total. Likewise, Basel’s last 11 contests in the Swiss Super League went in the over 2.5 goals.
On the other side, Vila Nova continues with low-scoring affairs in the Brazilian Serie B. Their last 15 games saw less than three goals in the total. Vila Nova visits Oeste, and the price on the Over 2.5 Goals is 2.75.
I would go with the Over 1.5 Goals at 1.60 whereas the previous four H2H duels at Arena Barueri had two or more goals in the total. Three of those four contests saw at least three goals in the total, but four of the last five H2H matchups overall went in the under 2.5 goals.
