We’re bringing you Europa League Betting Prediction for the six most exciting games of the final qualification phase as 42 teams are fighting to enter the group stage.
Ludogorets firm favourites to beat the Slovenians
Maribor are travelling to Bulgaria to take on Ludogorets, but they are in a weak form of late, winning just one of the last seven matches. Also, Maribor are without a road victory in the previous five games; however, they managed to score in 14 consecutive away games.
On the other hand, Ludogorets are unbeaten in the last nine and are firm favourites to get a win here. Although they kept their net intact in the previous four matches at home, Maribor are good when it comes to scoring goals, and that’s why my Europa League Betting Prediction for this encounter is BTTS at 2.00 (+100).
Copenhagen absolute favourites as they welcome Riga
FC Copenhagen were unlucky to suffer elimination from the Champions League as they lost to Crvena Zvezda on penalties, but they are expected to enter the Europa League group stage without problems. They are welcoming Riga and are 1.20 (-500) favourites to get a victory.
Riga are without a defeat in the last five games, but they should consider themselves lucky to come this far, and I don’t think they stand a chance against much more experienced Copenhagen. The Danes will be looking to create a significant advantage before the second leg in Latvia, and I am backing them to cover the -1.5 spread at 1.70 (-143).
An intriguing clash in Athens
AEK Athens played just two competitive games this season as they eliminated U. Craiova in the previous round. They are facing a solid Trabzonspor team that didn’t lose a game since February, and it’s going to be hard for the Greeks to make it to the UEL groups.
Trabzonspor signed English striker Daniel Sturridge yesterday, and even though he might be unavailable to feature tonight, the Turks have a good team, and I expect them to score at least one goal here. They scored an away goal in each of the last 18 matches, and that’s the biggest reason I am backing BTTS at 1.91 (-110).
The battle between the neighbors in Alkmaar
Antwerp are visiting AZ Alkmaar as underdogs, but they beat Plzen in the previous round, and they cannot be underestimated in this one. The hosts are the favourites, and they kept the clean sheet in each of seven games they played this season, which is a fantastic achievement.
I am usually following the betting trends, but for this particular encounter, I am going with BTTS because it’s time for the Dutch side to concede a goal finally. Antwerp found the back of the net in every game in this campaign, and that’s enough for me to go with BTTS at 1.80 (-125).
A tough game awaits Frankfurt
Strasbourg will host Eintracht Frankfurt in one of the most intriguing tilts of the day, and even though the Germans are favourites to win, it could go either way. Frankfurt played the semi-finals of the Europa League last season, and it would be surprising if they miss out on the group stage this time around.
However, Strasbourg will try to get a positive result in front of their fans, and they know they can do it only if they score more goals than the visitors. That’s why I expect an exciting clash with plenty of chances on both ends, and hopefully, goals. BTTS is 1.80 (-125), and it’s my Europa League Betting Prediction for this duel.
Odds dropped on Braga
Braga are facing Spartak Moscow at beautiful Estádio Municipal, and the odds on the hosts dropped from 1.95 (-105) to 1.62 (-161), which is suspicious to me. I am not going to bet on the full-time result here because of that, and I opt for the goals instead.
Each of Braga’s last five matches produced goals on both sides, which is the case with Spartak’s previous four games. The Russians managed to win all of those four games including the most recent derby of Moscow against CSKA, so I am backing the visitors to get a good result in Portugal. My pick for this clash is BTTS at 1.90 (-111).
