Fantasy Premier League: What We Learned From Week 1

Fantasy Premier League 2019-20 season started last weekend and we already had a couple of surprising results while some players were surprisingly impressive. It’s still early to think about making numerous changes in your Fantasy Premier League lineup after just one week, but let’s take a look at what happened in the weekend behind us.

Fantasy Premier League – Week 1 Recap

The Champions League winners, Liverpool, opened the 2019-20 Premier League campaign with a 4-1 home victory over the newcomers Norwich City. Defending champions Manchester City were ruthless on the road as they destroyed West Ham United 5-0. Arsenal got a narrow 1-0 win at Newcastle United while their city rivals Tottenham Hotspur beat Aston Villa 3-1 after coming from behind. In the most anticipated game of the Week 1, Manchester United surprised many with a 4-0 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Fantasy Premier League – Top Performers and Dream Team

Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez dominated Week 1 with three goals and three assists, respectively. Ashley Barnes starred in Burnley’s big 3-0 win over Southampton with a couple of goals. Marcus Rashford and Harry Kane also contributed with a pair of goals. Mohamed Salah, who was the most captained player in GW1, collected 12 points while his teammate, Virgil van Dijk, was the most selected player. The Dutchman scored a goal against Norwich City but he didn’t keep a cleen sheet and that’s why he failed to make Dream Team in Week 1 . In the defence, Burnley’s left-back Erik Pieters led all the players with 14 points (two assists). Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Lewis Dunk, and Chris Mepham also made the GW1 Dream Team. David de Gea was excellent at the goal against Chelsea and kept his net intact with seven saves and two bonus points.

FPL Gameweek 1 Winner

Lucky Ndinisa assembled the best team in Fantasy Premier League GW1 which collected even 142 points. He used a triple captain chip on Raheem Sterling. It totally paid off as the English forward accumulated amazing 60 points. Here is how Ndinisa’s team looked like:
