Goals Expected in Copenhagen
The Danish Superliga enters its third round, and only one team collected maximum points thus far – FC Copenhagen. Today, we have a derby match between Brondby and Odense who won four and three points from the opening two rounds, respectively.
Brondby are slight favorites in this one, but they are playing Europa League qualifications and are relatively tired after the clash with Lechia Gdansk, which they lost 2-1 in Poland. Therefore, I am not betting on the hosts to win or on a full-time result at all.
The Boys from the Westside are struggling to keep their net intact lately as they conceded in seven of the previous eight games. The good news is that Brondby did score in eight of the last ten while they also found the back of the net in each of the previous six H2h meetings with Odense.
On the other hand, Odense bounced back from the opening day defeat to Copenhagen (2-3) with a comfortable home victory over Lyngby (4-1). Odense failed to score in the latest H2H duel with Brondby, but they scored in six of the previous seven H2H encounters. Each of Odense’s two games this season produced goals on both sides and over 2.5 goals in total.
My Pick: BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals at 1.83 (-120)
The Battle of Moscow
The Russian Premier League is also in its third round this weekend, and we already have one of the biggest rivalries on schedule for today. CSKA Moscow are welcoming their city rivals Lokomotiv, hoping to record first home victory over the arch-rivals since 2017.
The Militarians haven’t experienced the best of starts in this campaign as they lost to Krylya Sovetov in the opening round. They did respond with a narrow 2-1 home win over Orenburg, but head coach Viktor Goncharenko still cannot be satisfied with the way his team is playing.
Lokomotiv are in a better form at the moment as they are without a loss in the last 11 matches. They collected four points in the opening two rounds and are hoping to stay unbeaten today as well. In addition, Yuri Semin’s side is undefeated in the previous five H2H duels with CSKA Moscow (regulation only), and they scored a goal in 13 of the last 15 games in all competitions. Six of the past nine H2H tilts provided goals on both ends, and therefore, I am betting on BTTS here.
My Pick: BTTS at 2.00 (+100)
Another Win on the Cards for Slavia
Slavia Prague won two of the last three 1. Liga championships and they are defending the title after finishing ahead Plzen last year. The Red and Whites are hosting Sigma Olomuc after winning the opening two matches of the new season, and are massive favorites to get three points here at low 1.16 (-600) odds.
Sigma Olomuc opened this season with a 3-1 road defeat to the vice-champions Plzen, but they did beat Zlin in the next round at home (1-0). They are without a victory over Slavia in the previous five H2H encounters, but, interestingly, Sigma haven’t lost to Slavia by more than two-goal margin on the road since 2008.
Furthermore, Sigma haven’t been beaten by three or more goals on the road in a single game since September 2018. Although the hosts should win this game without problems, I am backing the visitors to cover the +2.5 spread even though the last season’s starting goalkeeper Miloš Buchta is sidelined with an injury.
My Pick: Sigma Olomuc AH +2.5 at 1.60 (-166)
