Austria U21 Team News and Latest Form
Austria experienced a great start at the U21 European Championship with a 2-0 victory over Serbia. Hannes Wolf and Sascha Horvath scored the goals but Wolf suffered a severe leg injury and will be out for multiple months.
That win was built on strong and well-organized defence but it wasn’t that good in a tilt with Denmark. A 3-1 defeat came after Philipp Lienhart tied the game and Christoph Baumgartner missed an opportunity to score from the penalty, so the Austrians fell to a 3-1 loss.
Marco Friedl replaced left-back Maximilian Ullmann while striker Marko Kvasina came to fill in Wolf’s role in the attack. However, none of them played well so we could see changes here with Sasa Kalajdzic one of the candidates to start up front.
Germany U21 Team News and Latest Form
The reigning champions confirmed their status as tournament favorites with two convincing wins at the start of the European Championship. Richter scored the opening goal against miserable Serbia while Waldschmidt recorded a hat-trick. Mahmoud Dahoud and Arne Maier also found the back of the net in a huge 6-1 win. It is important to highlight that both goals that Germany allowed in Italy so far came from the penalty spot.
Head coach Stefan Kuntz made a couple of changes against Serbia with Maximilian Eggestein played a defensive midfield while Florian Neuhaus came in for Arne Maier. Neuhaus responded with a good performance and will probably continue to serve in the starting eleven. Nadiem Amiri could get a starting nod after coming off the bench in both matches.

Germany are leading all-time H2H duels with eight victories in nine games. The Germans won each of the last four encounters and scored minimum two goals along the way while they scored four in each of the previous two. The most recent H2H clash was played in October 2016 when Germany won 4-1.
Austria U21 vs. Germany U21 Betting Tip
Germany are firm favorites here and everything but their win would be surprising. We usually don’t encourage to bet at 1.40 (-250) on single but this is a sure shot and you can back it with a bigger stake. Still, we’re giving you another bet and this one has the potential to make you a little fortune. Austria displayed defensive fragility against Denmark and that’s why we’re also backing Germany to win with over 2.5 goals at 1.75 (-133).
