We are approaching quarterfinals in Halle and at the Queen’s Club, so the things are becoming quite tricky. Still, we have a two-match parlay at -110 (1.90) odds.
First, in Halle, the second-seeded Alexander Zverev takes on David Goffin. Zverev won his first two matches in straight sets and is listed as a -200 (1.50) fave on this one. Goffin had an easy job against Guido Pella in the first round, winning 6-1 6-1, but the Belgian had a lot of problems to overcome Radu Albot in three sets in the Round of 16.
This will be the fifth H2H duel between Zverev and Goffin, and the score is tied, while this one will be their first meeting on the grass court. Zverev should grab a victory, considering his style of play, and the home audience could be another strong factor. Zverev has a 24-12 record on grass in his career, while Goffin is 18-17 on the fastest surface.
At the Queen’s Club, the fourth-seeded Daniil Medvedev takes on Diego Schwartzman who upset the reigning champ Marin Cilic 6-4 6-4 in the previous round. Medvedev had a difficult task in the Round of 16 and barely outlasted Lucas Pouille in three sets 7-6 6-7 6-4.
Medvedev is a strong -350 (1.28) fave here, and I expect him to beat Schwartzman. Diego surely deserved to beat Cilic, but he came to London with a 1-8 record on grass in his career. Schwartzman is a great fighter who never gives up, but Medvedev should finish on top. Also, Medvedev easily defeated Schwartzman in straight sets 6-4 6-4 in Tokyo on a hard court last year which was their only H2H duel.
