Austria upset favored Serbia in the opening game of Group B and secured a win while Denmark fell to the reigning champions Germany. The pressure is the Danes to get three points or they will be eliminated while Austria can be happy with a point here.

Denmark U21 Team News and Latest Form
Denmark suffered a 3-1 loss to Germany in their opening loss at the European Under-21 Championship. The Danes were toothless in the first half as they didn’t record a single shot on target and although Robert Skov scored from the penalty in the 73rd minute, it was too late for his team to get a positive result.
Head coach Niels Frederiksen could give opportunities to midfielder Oliver Abildgaard and winger Mikkel Duelund in this clash with Austria. Marcus Ingvartsen should continue to lead the line and Denmark’s top scorer will definitely have more goal-scoring chances here.
Denmark recorded five defeats in their previous seven games and the latest one to Germany was their third consecutive. They failed to hit the net in two of those last three losses and managed to keep the clean sheet in only two of the previous eight matches.
Austria U21 Team News and Latest Form
Austria got off to a fast start at the U21 European Championship with a 2-0 victory over favored Serbia. The Austrians were a better team from the very start and created more goal-scoring chances throughout the encounter. Hannes Wolf was the quickest to a rebound from Sascha Horvath’s post to put Austria ahead while Horvath set the final score from a free-kick in the second half.
The bad news for Werner Gregoritsch is Wolf’s leg fracture following a challenge by Vukasin Jovanovic who received a red card for his horrendous tackle. Wolf will miss the rest of this tournament and will be out for multiple months. With Wolf out of contention for Austria, expect Husein Balic or Sasa Kalajdzic to replace him in starting lineup.
Austria are on a good run of results and only one loss in their previous ten games while they beat France and Serbia in the last two, scoring five goals and conceding just one in return. They kept their net intact in six of the previous nine matches and they have a great opportunity to get another three points if they keep Denmark away of Schlager’s goal.
Denmark U21 vs. Austria U21 Head to Head
Denmark and Austria faced three times so far and the Danes are leading 2-1 in those H2H tilts. The most recent meeting was a friendly in March 2018 and Denmark destroyed Austria 5-0 thanks to goals from Jacob Bruun Larsen, Marcus Ingvartsen, Robert Skov, Nikolai Laursen, and Jannik Pohl.
Denmark U21 vs. Austria U21 Betting Tip
Denmark are desperate to get three points here that would keep them alive in the semi-finals race but Austria already showed they can surprise favored rivals and I wouldn’t put my money on the Danes here. Even though they will play without influential Wolf, I am backing the Austrians to leave Dacia Arena with at least point in their bag. Backing a double chance on Austria at 1.50 (-200) is a nice bet to add on your acca while you can also try with a draw at 3.20 (+220) if you prefer betting on singles.
