Italy U21 Team News and Latest Form
Italy trailed early in the game against Spain as Dani Ceballos scored a screamer in the 9th minute. However, Federico Chiesa with a brace and Lorenzo Pellegrini from the penalty spot gave the Italians a precious 3-1 victory.
It was only Italy’s third victory in 11 games and they finally recorded a win after four matches. They returned the favor to Spain who defeated them two years ago with the same 3-1 result in the semis and this victory will lift the players’ spirit, so they shouldn’t miss an importunity to get another three points in this one.
The defence is an issue for head coach Luigi Di Biagio as the Italians failed to keep the clean sheet in nine of the last 11 matches and they conceded three goals in the previous two games. Still, their offence produced five goals in the last two.
Poland U21 Team News and Latest Form
Poland were considered slight underdogs in the opening clash of this championship with Belgium and they had to play from behind as the Belgians scored an early goal. However, the Poles bounced back in a great way and scored the next three goals through Szymon Zurkowski, Krystian Bielik, and Sebastian Szymanski. The Red Devils managed to claw one back but it wasn’t enough and Poland won 3-2.
Poland lost just two of the previous 15 games and it looks that a 2-0 defeat to Serbia in a final friendly before this tournament didn’t mean anything. Their defence is also problematic as they conceded at least a goal in ten of the last 12 games but they managed to score in 13 of the previous 15, which is a good sign for Czesław Michniewicz.
Italy U21 vs. Poland U21 Head to Head
The foes have met just once thus far and it was in a friendly tilt in March 2017 when Italy recorded a tight, 2-1 win. Lorenzo Pellegrini and Dawid Kownacki found the back of the net in that encounter and they will likely start for their respective teams here as well.
Italy U21 vs. Poland U21 Betting Tip
The odds on Italy to win are not appealing and betting on Asian Handicap could be tricky as both teams are battling for the top spot in the group. Therefore, we don’t advise you to bet on full-time or on AH and instead; you can go with Italy to win and both teams to score at excellent 3.10 (+210) odds. It is a better value than backing the Italians at low odds because both Poland and Italy are having trouble to defend their own net.
